Mondays in the Creation Station

GreaterRestonArtsCenter welcomes children in grades K-6 to enroll in our Monday afternoon hands-on art workshops. Art teacher JJ Blum leads each lesson from 3:30-5:00 pm and focus on a different form of art making and developing creativity through self-expression.

Reservations are required. All programs are $15 for members and $20 for non-members

Jennifer (JJ) Blum has been a storyteller and art educator for 17 years. JJ has taught and developed art curriculum for museums, public and private schools, and national art program, Abrakadoodle. She makes her home in Reston, VA with her husband and 2 young children. JJ works with a unique, gentle and multicultural stories and developmentally focused art lessons. Through her pairing of Art and Story she introduces children to cultures and traditions from all over the world, encouraging them to see life from different perspectives.

New Creation Station Station Policy

Age groups vary by program and date. Only children within the age groupings listed will be permitted to attend. These are children only events and class size is limited. Preregistration is required. Program fees are required at the time of registration and must be paid to guarantee participation. If you cancel your registration with 48 hour’s notice, credit will be given for future classes. Refunds will not be offered. This policy accommodates the small class size and allows each student to interact with the artist leading the session in the most engaging way possible.

We suggest becoming a member or subscribing to our mailing list to stay abreast of program and registration information. Early registration for members is offered for some classes and for the Summer Art Program.

Winter Weather Policy

GRACE follows the Fairfax County Public School schedule. If schools are closed, open late, or close early on a Creation Station day, the workshop will be rescheduled.
