Family Weekend Workshops

Artists lead children and their parents on a tour of the exhibition while discussing their inspiration, materials, and processes. Then you will explore your own ideas and develop a one-of-a-kind creation during this hands-on art making extravaganza.

Parents/Caregivers are required to attend and are encouraged to participate.

June 1, 2013 10am - 12pm
Artist Julia Bloom will lead the group on a tour of her sculptures of foraged sticks and twigs with man-made wire in the gallery. Then you will explore your own ideas about nature and art in your own piece.

$20 residents and GRACE members/$40 non-residents

Family Weekend Workshops are appropriate for ages 8 and up.

Registration must be completed through the Reston Community Center (RCC). The RCC registration form can be dropped off in person, faxed, or mailed to Reston Community Center. Greater Reston Arts Center will not be accepting registration forms. If you are a GRACE member, but not a resident of Small District #5, you must drop off your registration in person or call Cheri Danaher, CPRP, Arts Education Director, Reston Community Center, 703-476-4500 x 6175 to receive the reduced rate.
