Forest of Stories
|
October 27, Monday
3:30-5:00pm (K-6th grades)
$15 members; $20 non-members
In the current exhibition, Sleeping Tree, artist Shinji
Turner-Yamamoto explores the relationship between a dead tree
and the birth of new seedlings.
This theme of regeneration is critical to the life of a forest and is woven
throughout world literature. In this program led by art educator JJ Blum,
children will hear stories from different cultures that have trees and nature
as the main characters. They will create their own watercolor resist forests
and footprint flowers while discussing the importance of caring for
the earth.
