Mind-boggling Buildings

Saturday, October 15 10am-Noon

Fees per workshop: $20 per child-adult pair residents/non-residents

Participants will explore ideas about imaginary architecture and mind-boggling buildings during this hands-on art making experience. After exploring Evan Reed’s exhibition, each participant will create a one-of-a-kind building or structure using a variety of materials and forms. Children must be aged 8+ to participate and be accompanied by an adult.

3D Adventures in Wonderland: Book Arts

Saturday, November 12 10am-Noon

Fees per workshop: $20 per child-adult pair residents/non-residents

Come enter into the "wonderland" of the Pop-Up Book, a fantastic 3D book format that can take your imagination anywhere it wants to go. After looking at examples of pop-up books by various artists, we will try our hands at drawing, painting, collaging, cutting and finally pasting together our own magical worlds. The workshop will be led by Zigzag Crafts, and taught by Roberta Jeffries (printmaker and book artist), and Susan Jeffries (narrative painter). Children must be aged 8+ to participate and be accompanied by an adult. Limited to 10 parent/child pairs.

Weekend workshops are appropriate for ages 8 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Greater Reston Arts Center will not be accepting registration forms. If you are a GRACE member, but not a resident of Small District #5, you must drop off your registration in person or call Cheri Danaher, CPRP, Arts Education Director, Reston Community Center, 703-476-4500 x 6175 to receive the reduced rate.
